Southern Wine Trail

Vineyards are closer to Hobart than to any other capital city in the country and no matter which direction you choose to travel, there’s an array of world class activities on offer for visitors to Hobart and beyond….

To the south you will find the Huon Valley, an area rich in pioneer heritage, and the picturesque beauty of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. This is a region of waterways and wilderness, art and craft, forests and fishing boats, orchards and vineyards. To the east are the wineries and vineyards of the Coal River Valley, surrounding the beautiful and historic township of Richmond. To the south-east is the Tasman National Park with its spectacular coastline and historic convict sites. To the north west is the Derwent Valley, where the road follows the beautiful Derwent River through rows of poplars, hops and vines and on to Tasmania’s central highlands.

So no matter which direction you choose, the fresh produce and premium wine of southern Tasmania is ready for you to explore, experience and enjoy.

Note: Please check vineyard listings for opening hours as some are only open by appointment.
