Stanley Wine Bar steals the show at Tasmanian Wine List of the Year Awards!

Stanley Wine Bar has emerged as the standout of the 2026 Tasmanian Wine List of the Year Awards, taking home three major accolades, including the coveted Overall Judges' Choice Best Tasmanian Wine List of the Year.
The north-west coast gem also claimed Best Small Bar Wine List and - proving the public agrees with the experts - the People's Choice Award. Not a bad effort from a little bar in a little town in a little corner of Tassie.
The judges also awarded Stillwater with Best Tasmanian Wine List – Launceston, Mures Upper Deck with Best Tasmanian Wine List – Hobart, Homestead at Piermont Retreat with Best Tasmanian Wine List - Regional and recognised Grain of the Silos (Launceston) and Bar Clarry (Small Bar) as Highly Commended.
Presented by Wine Tasmania, the annual awards recognise the restaurants, bars and hospitality venues going above and beyond to showcase the quality, diversity and downright deliciousness of Tasmanian wine.
Wine Tasmania CEO Sheralee Davies congratulated this year’s award winners – "On behalf of our talented wine producers, we are thrilled to recognise the legendary support of venues for our local wines. From small to large, from regional and major towns right around the island, this year has seen some incredible wine lists and efforts to champion our local wines.”
"We know people are increasingly travelling to Tasmania to explore our wonderful wines and visit our regional cellar doors. We want visitors and locals alike to enjoy the quality and diversity of Tassie wine when they sit down at a restaurant, pull up a stool at a bar, ask for a recommendation or the stories behind the wines."
This year's awards were assessed by an exceptional judging panel comprising Curly Haslam-Coates of Vintage Tasmania, internationally recognised wine communicator Cassandra Camerer-Charlick, and respected wine journalist and critic Nola James, alongside Wine Tasmania.
“We congratulate and thank every winner, highly commended venue and each finalist for their commitment to putting Tassie wine in the spotlight. We also thank our voluntary judges for generously sharing their time and expertise," Ms Davies said.
“Given Tasmania’s ever-growing global reputation for some of the best cool climate wines on the planet, celebrating and sharing these at home in Tasmania makes perfect sense.”
Coinciding with the announcement of the 2026 Tasmanian Wine List of the Year Awards, Wine Tasmania is delighted to unveil the new 2027 Tasmanian Wine Trails Guide. Featuring a refreshed look and feel, the latest edition is the perfect companion for exploring Tasmania's diverse wine trails, exceptional producers and unique cellar door experiences.
"Wine is a key motivation for people to travel to Tasmania and visit our regional cellar doors. This visitor segment stays longer, spends more and travels further into our regions than other visitor segments.," Ms Davies said.
