The search for Tassie’s best local wine list is on again. . .
Wine Tasmania is on a mission to find outstanding local champions of the island’s wine through its 2022 Tasmanian Wine List of the Year program, with entries now invited.
Now in its fifth year, this program aims to recognise Tasmanian hospitality and retail businesses proudly promoting the island’s exceptional wine offering.
As Tasmanian wine continues to grow in global popularity, there is much to celebrate when it comes to supporting and promoting Tasmania’s local produce. Not only do Tasmanians appreciate the ever-increasing high quality of the island’s restaurants and hospitality venues, more and more people are visiting Tasmania to sample our local produce for themselves.
Wine Tasmania CEO Sheralee Davies said:
"Our hospitality venues and wine retailers play an important role in showcasing and sharing our local wines and produce. The Tasmanian Wine List of the Year program is about recognising, supporting and profiling some of these venues which are doing it best. Our Tasmanian wine producers value the support of their friends in local hospitality and retail businesses, particularly after a few challenging years for us all, and we look forward to promoting the finalists and award winners in 2022."
The Wine List of the Year awards include both People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice categories, with the percentage of Tasmanian wines by the glass and bottle, diversity of styles, regional representation as well as quality of service, training and wine knowledge all taken into account throughout the judging process.
Tasmanian on-premise venues and wine retailers – regardless of size – are encouraged to nominate at winetasmania.com.au/wloty by the 21st of September 2022. Finalists are announced and the People’s Choice voting campaign begins from 28th September.
