Tassie's *coolest* wines are heading north next month
This August, Tasmania's wine producers are packing up the bottles (and a little island swagger) and heading interstate for two exclusive trade tastings in Sydney and Melbourne.
Hosted by Wine Tasmania at Chin Chin Sydney on Monday 24 August and Chin Chin Melbourne on Monday 31 August, the afternoon tastings will showcase some of Tasmania's most exciting producers to the country’s key wine buyers.
From world-renowned, razor-sharp sparkling wines to elegant Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling and emerging cool climate varieties, attendees will have the opportunity to taste their way across Tasmania's regional wine areas – all in one room.
Wine Tasmania CEO Sheralee Davies said the events are a key opportunity to connect Tasmanian producers with some of the country's most influential wine professionals.
"Tasmanian wine is all about quality over quantity – which the low-yielding 2026 vintage has certainly demonstrated. Global demand for the island’s wines continues to grow, and this is a rare chance for wine trade representatives to try an array of limited-availability wines in one place," Ms Davies said.
"Beyond just an (excellent) tasting, these events are an opportunity for wine trade to meet the growers and makers, hear the stories behind the wines and each vintage, and discover what makes Tasmania one of the world's most exciting cool climate wine regions".
The interstate tasting events build on Wine Tasmania's hugely popular national trade visitation program, which brings influential buyers and decision-makers to the island each year to experience firsthand the depth and diversity of the Tasmanian wine landscape.
